2013 is winding to a close, and I’m still not convinced that we pronounce it “twenty thirteen” vs “two thousand thirteen”.  I’ll figure it out before the millennium is up.  Meanwhile, if you are on the mailing list for our NYC podiatry office – and chances are good since you’re reading this – then you know that we’ve moved to a new location, 30 Park Avenue, so close to our previous location.  And as the year winds down and the New Year begins, it’s a good idea to get the resolutions in order, and to consider how your NYC podiatrist can help you keep your resolutions.

Get In Shape

Think this is probably a big one on many people’s list, and if it’s not, it should be.  Make this your year to start an exercise regimen, walk through your lunch break, run a little more, or get to the gym once in a while.  And it’s important to have two feet on the end of each leg for those activities.  Those feet will function better in a pair of custom orthotics, and remember not to ignore the inevitable aches and pains, which could be a sign of tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, or a muscle strain.  For general aches and pains, we now offer full service physical therapy in the office.  Patients with back pain, other muscle strains or tendonitis, and those who require post-surgical rehabilitation can now be accommodated in the office.

Fix Those Feet

Again, it may not be big on the list, but this is my blog, and I get to set the priorities.  Make this the year to investigate and cure the morning heel pain, daytime arch pain, or nighttime burning pain that has been nagging for years (no, this is not an offer for marriage counseling).  Got fungal nails?  We now offer a proven cure in the form of laser therapy that works, and does not involve any oral or topical medication.  Surgical techniques for the repair of bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, tendon disorders get better every year, and there are tools available in 2014 that may not have been available in previous years.

Stop Smoking

Duh.  Sorry, can’t help you with that one other than to tell you that it’s really bad for you and you know it.  It’s also revolting and expensive.

Well, that about does it for now.  Remember to be a better person this year.  Be good to your family and other people.  Try harder.  Give more charity.  Smile a little more.  And for goodness sake, stop into our new NYC podiatry office, conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan.

See you in the new office.
